- What Acetaminophen soft gelatin capsule is and what it is used for?
Acetaminophen 500mg soft gelatin capsule (“Acetaminophen soft gelatin capsule”) contains Acetaminophen. It belongs to a group of medicines called analgesics (painkillers) and is used for the treatment of headaches (including migraine and tension headaches), toothache, nerve pain, backache, muscle pain, joint pain, a sore throat and a period pain. It is also used to lower a high temperature and relieve the symptoms of cold or flu. Acetaminophen soft gelatin capsule cannot be used in babies and children under the age of 10.
- What you need to know before you take Acetaminophen soft gelatin capsule:
- Do not take Acetaminophen soft gelatin capsule if you:
- Are taking any other Acetaminophen containing products, other flu, cold, cough or decongestant products, or alcohol.
- Are allergic (hypersensitive) to Acetaminophen, or any of the other ingredients of Acetaminophen soft gelatin capsule.
- Have kidney or liver problems.
- Have a rare hereditary problem of fructose intolerance.

- Possible side effects of Acetaminophen soft gelatin capsule:
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The side effects depend on the dose and the duration of treatment. The most common side effects are rash, itchy skin, swelling of the lips, eyes, tongue, or difficulty in breathing. STOP taking Acetaminophen soft gelatin capsule if you notice signs of an allergic reaction immediately.
- How to store Acetaminophen soft gelatin capsule:
– Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
– Store your medicine in the original packaging in order to protect from moisture.
– Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and label after ‘EXP’.
– The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
- Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
